Great Lakes Blues (Collaboration) Project

Hey there !

I am now inviting all members to send in a photo or video of yourself playing Great Lakes Blues.

I'll be compiling a video collage of all our performances, and creating our very own video year book for the Harmonicatime.com class of mid 2021!

Here's how to be involved!

Ideally you will simultaneously record an isolated audio file of your harmonica performance, but if you not savvy with recording software a super fun photo or video will work too.

Step 1. Download the backing track for Great Lakes Blues (without harmonica).

Step 2. Set up your phone/camera with a nice clear shot. Or even better, have someone film you!

Step 3. Press record and play your version of Great Lakes Blues. Include at least one full version of the melody, and some improvisation!

Step 4. Send me the video file, and audio file (if you have one) via the Audio & Video Submission Page.

I'll do the rest, and produce a video that I guarantee will be really special.

*If you have recording software.

Load the backing track into your recording software (DAW) and make sure the audio file is lined up to zero on the timeline.

Set up your microphone and check the recording level.

Press record on the camera (first) and record your version of Great Lakes Blues on a separate track.

If you have any tech questions, please feel free to get in touch.

*If you are new to recording software but would like to give it a go.

Check out Audacity.

It's free, and I know some other members here have had good results using it.
