I recorded this for my granddaughter and wanted to share it with you as well.
This is my second take as my daughter told me that the first version was technical OK but had no feel.
What do you think of this version?

I think it sounds okay. Technically you’re hitting all the notes and you’re keeping the timing. Sounds a little stiff at the beginning but when you get to the chorus it really begins to bounce. In the beginning of your song it kind of sounds like you are concentrating on the music, however when you get around the middle part and the beat picks up you seem to be having more fun with it. I don’t know how else to explain it but the song seems more lively and the notes seemed to bounce more than just being played. Don’t get me wrong brother you’re doing 10 times better than I could on that song so this is just my humble opinion. Keep up the great work and keep on harping!

    Hi Udo,

You are so lucky to have an in-house critique that you can play to. My Bonnie was my favorite song when I was a little girl. You picked the right song to play for your granddaughter. I can tell you are bending in some notes. Your feel was certainly upped here. I listened to this song three times, I like my last round better when I turned down my speaker volume a bit. It then gave me the softer version that I preferred. Thanks so much for sharing.

Again, what is the key you used?

    Hi CC and Ted,

    Thanks for your honest feedback.

Ted: I can only grow if you tell me where I should be looking for improvement. And you are right, it sounds in some parts like practicing and in others like playing. I want to play it all the way through.

CC: Yes in-house critiques are wonderful. Although these special persons live nearly 200 km away, they are honest as well. Once I’ve uploaded my recording I share the link and hear back from them. I was using an A major harp to record this song.

    Thanks again
    Udo

    Hi Udo,

First of all thanks for Sharing i hope more of us will do this, it’s a good way to help improve.
My 2 cents on your performance:
Try to practise it a little slower and speed things up gradually
That will help to give it the right feeling
The bends need a tiny bit of accuracy
    Overal great job Udo

    Greetings,
    Henk
