Celtic music was transformed in Appalachia, African and Caribbean sounds came in through the US South, every immigrant culture brought their own sound and it all mashed up and gave birth to American Folk, Gospel, Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz, Blues Rock. I want to devour it all and pour it back out.

I’ve played the tin whistle in the past, and dabbled in wooden flute out of the same love of the sound. Now it’s harmonica time (no website name drop intended).

I know I’m never going to be Todd Parrott, but if I could work out a similar country/gospel/blues chops fusion at my level, I’d be very happy.

Good luck to us all, and cheers!

Thanks all! I had a surprise appendectomy (I’m alright now), so almost immediately after I made this post I had to knock off practice for four weeks. Diaphragm support was a ‘no go’ with holes in my abdominal wall. Itching to get back!
