Been playing music since I was about 10 years old. Started with my dad’s guitar first learning the C, F & G chord, then began to pick out single notes from songs on the radio. I played a harmonica as a teenager but never had any formal training. It wasn’t anything like these teachers are teaching or anything to write home about. I recently rediscovered my desire to play the Harmonica again, but I want to do it right and I’m so glad I found Mitch’s web site and this forum. What a great teacher, forum and group of students. I just started today working on the single notes and am excited to get them down and moving on to the next lesson.

You sound like me, Randy. I also started playing a harmonica when I was 10 yrs. old. My 4th grade teacher formed a harmonica band within our classroom. Our basic instruction was not very good, but by the end of the year we were sounding pretty good. We all had Hohner Marine Band (C). I am now 93 and I kept that old harmonica until about 10 years ago when someone wanted it more than me, along with my hunting backpack, when I carelessly left it for a while on an elk hunting trip high in the Colorado mountains. I entertained the grands and the greats with it occasionally in my sloppy playing ways.
So about a month ago when I was snowed in off the golf course, I thought “I miss my harmonica”, so I recently bought a Hohner Special 20 and am starting to learn how to play it right. Just finished my 2nd lesson and looking forward to the rest. Good luck to you, Podner!
