Harmonica Lessons › Community Forum › Harmonica Q&A › Faster pussycat (house of pain)
Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone can help with harmonica tabs on the classic rock ballad (house of pain) recorded by faster pussycat in 1988 and released in 89. I basically have broken it down by ear with my (c) harp for both riffs but feel the (c) harp is an octave higher than the original which was recorded in the key of (c). I am as green as can be with playing harmonica but have been obsessed with practicing and do have some music knowledge playing the acoustic for 6 years now. I was thinking a (f) harmonica played in (c) second position would zone in on the sound I’m trying to emulate. Any suggestions would welcomed!
Hey Keith!
You are correct, it’s an F harp played in C using second position. Nice work.
The only thing to note is that they are using the 2nd position Major scale, as I teach in step #24 and #25. Check out those lessons/scales and that may help you find the missing notes! Some out breaths on the 2 hole and 5 hole 😉
Here’s clip if anyone else want to have a listen!
