I have a background in in Country and Swing, (Pedal Steel guitar), but I’ve become addicted to Harmonica of late. I have been working on Blues harmonica for the past year and really enjoy it but lately I’ve started adding some Standard soft rock and swing. I bought a chromatic and I seem to have a little more success with the other types of music using the chromatic. My problem is that i don’t know where to look for Chromatics in keys other than C except in harps that I can’t afford. I’ve bought Swan and Suzuki but can’t seem to get info about different keys from the two companies. Anyone know a solution?

    Hi Warren,

Welcome. As the name chromatic harmonica implies all the notes are there on that instrument, so you can play in any key on that C chromatic harmonica, once you learn where the notes/scales are! 😎

If you have a background in pedal steel then I’m sure you must have a pretty good understanding of theory, so chromatic shouldn’t be too hard to wrap your head around!

Having said that Hohner makes the super chromatic in many keys and it’s a great entry level harp.
